  • Kinondo Kwetu is home to Filip and Ida Andersson, who live there with their horses, dogs, cats, and most importantly, their daughter Lova.
  • Filip and Ida previously lived an exciting city life in New York, Filip as a music producer and Ida in advertising. One Christmas when both of them came out to help Filip's father, Fred Andersson, renovate his new property (Kinondo Kwetu) on the Kenyan Coast, they fell in love with the place and decided to stay on – changing their lives forever.
  • Both Filip and Ida focus a large part of their work on social responsibility. Among other things, they have built a new health clinic for the people of Kinondo village, and have set up a fund dedicated to sponsoring children's education and establishing an ecological garden.

GUIDES

Filip Andersson

  • Filip owns and manages Kinondo Kwetu with his wife Ida. He is a very experienced sailor, having sailed since his early childhood.

Fred Andersson

  • Fred Andersson is Filip's father. He is a former World Champion in yacht sailing, and always enjoys taking out guests when he is visiting Kinondo Kwetu.

Volker Bassen

  • A Swede who has lived in Kenya for 20 years, Volker is the founder of the East African Whale-Shark Trust, and has worked with fishing for the past 18 years. Volker is also qualified with all possible diving certificates (approx. 20 different qualifications): advanced-diver, lifeguard-diver, night-diver, etc.

Vuyaa Pandu

  • Vuyaa comes from a fishing family on Funzi Island. He is an excellent sailor and fisher.
